Excursion : Zermatt

 

This gorgeous mountain village at the base of the majestic matterhorn has become one of the major winter and summer resorts of Switzerland. There are no motorized vehicles in Zermatt, only horse-drawn sledges. Some electric cars are the only other form of permitted means of transport (taxi service). Zermatt and its surroundings offer the visitor an infinite variety of walks and mountain hikes. A vast network of marked paths will lead you through forests to lakes and glaciers. The  sophisticated cable car service facilitates the discovery of walks and hikes at higher altitudes. There are numerous mountain restaurants  where you can relax!
